Kishan Kapoor is an Indian political personality. He was born on 25 Jun 1952 (Age 69) in Himachal Pradesh, India. His father’s name is Hari Ram. He married Rekha Kapoor.
Kishan Kapoor is a member of parliament from Kangra. He served as MLA of the Dharamshala assembly constituency. He contested and won the 17th Lok Sabha elections from Kangra Lok Sabha constituency with a huge margin. He was first elected to the Legislative assembly in 1993 and re-elected in 1998 and 2007. He was inducted into Jai Ram Thakur's cabinet as food, civil supplies, and consumer affairs minister. He contested and won the assembly election from Dharamsala by defeating Chandresh Kumari by a margin of 417 votes in 1993. He was appointed Transport and Tribal Development Minister in 1998. He was re-elected to the Dharamsala constituency by defeating INC candidate Ram Swaroop by a margin of 3355 votes in 1998. He contested and won the assembly election from Dharamsala by defeating Chandresh Kumari by a margin of 7616 votes. He lost the ensuing assembly election in 2012. He contested and won the 17th Lok Sabha elections from Kangra Lok Sabha constituency and defeated INC candidate Pawan Kajal by a margin of over 400000 votes in 2019.
