His educational qualification is B.Com., B.L., M.A.(Philosophy), M.L.(Contracts) from Siddartha Arts College and A.C. College of Law (Acharya Nagarjuna University), Osmania University, Hyderabad and Annamalai University. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, India. He married Shrimati Usha Rani and has one son.
Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar started his political career as a candidate of the Telugu Desam Party. He was first elected to the Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament from Arunachal Pradesh in 2018. Currently, he is serving as a member of the Committee on Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) since 2018, member of Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Home Affairs since 2019, member of Committee on Papers Laid on the Table, and member of Committee on Industry since 2021.
