Kamakhya Prasad Tasa is an Indian politician. He was born on June 1, 1975 (age 46 years), in Jorhat, India. He is a Member of the Rajya Sabha since 2019. He did his study at Dibrugarh University. His father’s name is Late Dewram Tasa and his mother’s name is Smt. Champa Tasa. He married Smt. Kabita Tasa.
He joined the state wing of Bhartiya Janta Party in 2004. He was appointed as a member of the State Election Committee, B.J.P. Assam. Later he became Vice-President of B.J.P. in Assam in 2013. He was appointed as the Member of the Consultative Committee under the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region. Member of Committee on Private Members` Bills and Resolutions and Member of Consultative Committee under the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DONER) in 2014. He was elected as a member of Parliament in the 2014 general elections from the Jorhat constituency as a BJP candidate. Later he was appointed as a Member of the Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Gas in 2014. He was elected as a member of the National Jute Board and a Member of the Standing Committee on Rural Development in 2017.
