Kalpana Raghavendar is an Indian playback singer, actor and songwriter. Kalpana took birth on 8th May in Chennai in Musical family.
Kalpana father T. S. Raghavendra is popular playback singer of his time while her mother Sulochana is also a singer. Kalpana started his singing career as a playback singer at the age of 5 and till 2013 she had recorded more than 1500 tracks and did more than 3000 shows not only in India but in outside country too.
Her younger sister Shekinah Shawn is an Opera Singer. She completed her Master of Computer Applications degree and is currently pursuing Master of Philosophy. Kalpana was trained by Madurai T. Srinivasan. At the age of five, Kalpana first gave vocals for a family song which was composed by music director Saluri Vasurao. Kalpana got a breakthrough in 1999 when she gave her voice for the song Mangalagouriki for Manoharam (Telugu Film) directed by Mani Sharma. The playback singer had worked with several legendary composers & singers including A. R. Rahman, Ilaiyaraaja, S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, K. V. Mahadevan and K. S. Chithra.
Kalpana is more comfortable in performing on stage rather than playback singing. Yezhai Kaimben, Nee illataha, Unaiyandri, Aani Konda, Meetpu Tharum, Kalvarikku Pogalam, Enthan Uyire, Vanthen and Aadal Paadal are some of the Tamil hits of Kalpana Raghavendar.
Kalpana has a height of 1.65 metres and weighs around 65 Kgs. Her figure measurement is 34 - 27 - 35 inches. She has dark brown eyes and black colour hair.
