Her educational qualification is M.B.B.S. from R.G. Kar Medical College and Post Graduate Training in Obstetric Ultrasound at Kings College, London, U.K. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. She married Dr. Sudarsan Ghosh Dastidar (physician and a politician) on 30 Nov 1982 and has two sons. Her hobbies are listening to music, gardening, reading and playing with pet dogs, Swimming, and Tennis.
Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar was first elected to 15th Lok Sabha from Barasat (Lok Sabha constituency) as she became a member of the Standing Committee on Home Affairs, Committee on Government Assurances, Committee on Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme, and Standing Committee on Labour. After that, she was Re-elected to 16th Lok Sabha and 17th Lok Sabha (3rd term) from the same constituency. She is working with pioneer research workers doing Test Tube Baby Research world over with Doppler Ultrasound in female reproduction as the subject of special interest. She did some Social and Cultural Activities as well as has worked with Mother Teresa for the poor, Working with Pir Towa Siddique of Furfura Sharif for Mujadida Anath Foundation, and Running a school for poor children from BPL families for the last 6 years.
