K. G. Kenye is a famous Indian politician of the Naga Peoples Front, Social Worker, and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), the upper house of the Indian Parliament from the state of Nagaland. He was born on 6 November 1960 (age 61 years according to 2021) in Kohima (Nagaland), India. His father’s name is Shri Goyiepra Kenye and his mother’s name is Shrimati Lakshmi. He did his schooling at Minister's Hill Baptist English School and his educational qualification is Bachelor of Arts from Kohima College (NEHU), Kohima, Nagaland. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He is married to Shrimati Sashila Longkumar on 3 November 1989 and has four children two sons and two daughters.
K. G. Kenye started his political career as a candidate of the Naga Peoples Front. He was first elected to Member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly for 1989 – 92. In between, he was elected to the Minister of State for Irrigation and Flood Control, Government of Nagaland for 1990-91, and Deputy Chairman of State Planning Board, Nagaland for 1991-92. He has also been Political Advisor to the Chief Minister of Nagaland for 2014-16. In 2016, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha from the state of Nagaland. Currently, he is serving as a member of the Committee on Food, Consumer Affairs, and Public Distribution and member of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Rural Development and the Ministry of Panchayati Raj since 2019. He is also the Secretary-General of the Naga People's Front party.
