Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia is a famous Indian politician and a member of Congress party. He was born on January 1, 1971, to Madhav Rao Scindia (Maharaja of Gwalior). For Jyotiraditya education has always been very important. He is also highly educated; he did his schooling from a well-known school of Dehradun, the Doon School. He pursued his graduation from the Harvard University in Economics and post graduation (M.B.A.) from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He got married to Priyadarshini Raje Scindia, the daughter of the royal family of Gaekwad Maratha in 1994. He is the father of a son and a daughter. Jyotiraditya started his career in investment banking and private equity. He lost his father in a plane crash in 2001, after that he joined politics to continue his father’s heritage. In the year 2002 he contested elections from Guna, Madhya Pradesh and since then he has been elected four times. He became a part of the council of ministers in 2007 and was made the minister of Communication and Information Technology. In 2009 he was made Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and in 2012 he became the Minister of State for Power. He is one of the richest ministers of our country. He has assets of nearly 20000 crores as he is the only inheritor of his father’s property. Apart from Politics, Jyotiraditya was elected as a president of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA). He has also been the president of Board of Governors, Scindia School, Gwalior. Like his father, Jyotiraditya has always focused more on public service and less on politics which according to him is very important for the development of the country.
