Professor), social worker, and Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Jalpaiguri (SC) (West Bengal) Constituency. He was born on 3 February 1968 (age 53 years according to 2021) in Lataguri, Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, India. His father’s name is Late Shri Hemendra Narayan Roy and his mother’s name is Smt. Jaya Roy. His educational qualification is M.B.B.S., M.D. (Community Medicine) from North Bengal Medical College, (The West Bengal University of Health Sciences). His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He married Smt. Debjani Roy on 22 Jan 1992 and has two children one son and one daughter. He loves to interact with common people from different walks of life co-sharing their joys and sorrows, Playing football, cricket, badminton, etc.
Jayanta Kumar Roy is one of those candidates who are elected first time in parliament as he was elected to 17th Lok Sabha in 2019, lower house of the Parliament of India from Jalpaiguri, West Bengal constituency, and became a member of the Standing Committee on Science & Technology, Environment & Forests and member of Consultative Committee, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
