Jawhar Sircar is a retired Indian Administrative Services officer. He has been served as a prominent officer of the Indian Administrative Service officer from 1975 to 2012, Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner for MSME, Government of India for 2006-08, Secretary to Government of India for 2008–12, chief executive officer in Prasar Bharati, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India from 2012 to 2016. After that, he joined politics as a candidate for the All India Trinamool Congress in 2021 from the state of West Bengal. Currently, he is serving as a member of the Committee on Communications and Information Technology and a member of the Joint Committee on the Biological Diversity (Amendment) Bill since 2021.
