He was born on 22 August 1966 (age 55 years according to 2021) in Dasa, Dahod, Gujarat, India. His father’s name is Shri Suman Bhai Bhabhor and his mother’s name is Smt. Champagne Bhabhor. His educational qualification is a bachelor's degree in Arts from Nalini & Arvind Arts College, Vallabh Vidhya Nagar, Anand, Gujarat, and a bachelor's degree in Education from N.C.E.R.T. College, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. His religion belongs to Hinduism and nationality, Indian. He married Kanchan Bhabhor on 24 May 1987 and has 1 son and 2 daughters. Jasvantsinh Sumanbhai Bhabhor was very active in politics since his young age as he was first elected to the ninth Gujarat legislative assembly in 1995–97 and maintained his position for five terms and member of Welfare Committee for Scheduled Tribes for 1996 - 1997. He was appointed as General Secretary of Pradesh Tribal Morcha & Member of Pradesh Executive Committee and has been Chairman of Gujarat State Tribal Development Corporation for 1998 – 1999. He was made Deputy Minister of Food & Civil Supply, Govt. of Gujarat in 1999-2001 and made State Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Gujarat for 2001-2002. In 2003, he became President of, Welfare Committee for Scheduled Tribes for three years. In the period of 2005 to 2014, he was appointed on many positions these are State Minister for Forest & Environment, Govt. of Gujarat, State Minister for Tribal Development, Rural Development, Labour & Employment, Govt. of Gujarat, State Minister for Tribal Development, Panchayat & Rural Housing, Govt. of Gujarat, Member of Panchayat Raj Committee, Gujarat Vidhan Sabha, Member of Scheduled Tribes Committee, Gujarat Vidhan Sabha and State Minister for Forest and Environment, Tribal Development, Govt. of Gujarat.
In 2014, he was first elected to 16th Lok Sabha and in the same year became a member of the Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment and a member of the Consultative Committee, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. In 2016, he was appointed as a Union Minister of State of Ministry of Tribal Affairs. He was re-elected to 17th Lok Sabha (2nd term).
