He was born on 04 Aug 1985 (age 36 years according to 2021) in Matho Village, Leh District, Union Territory of Ladakh. His father’s name is Shri Stanzin Dorjey and his mother’s name is Smt. Ishey Putit. He did his schooling at the Central Institute of Buddhist Studies and his educational qualification is Bachelor of Arts from the University of Jammu, Jammu, and Kashmir. His Nationality belongs to Indian. He married Smt. (Dr.) Sonam Wangmo. He loves to do Youth Affairs, Organic Agriculture, Social Work, Women Empowerment, Reading, and Writing.
Jamyang Tsering Namgyal started his political career as a Member of the District Telecom Advisory Committee, Leh for 2015 – 2019. In 2015, he was elected to Councilor of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh, J&K and letter became Chairman/CEC of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh, J&K. In 2019, he was elected to 17th Lok sabha from Ladakh Constituency and served as a member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs, member of Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), member of Parliamentary Committee on Papers Laid on the Table, member of Parliamentary Consultative Committee, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, and member of Human Rights Working Group, Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA). In 2020, he was appointed to the State President of Bharatiya Janata Party, Ladakh. His published book is "Nyam-rt som Gyi Leg-skyes" A Gift of Poetry, 2013.
