Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar born in Punjab, India on 28^th August 1952 age 65 years. By profession he is Judge. He was appointed as the 44^th Chief Justice of India on January 4th, 2017, also he is the first Sikh to be appointed on this post. From 13^th September, 2011 to 27^th August, 2017 as the Judge in Supreme Court of India. He has given his notable judgments regarding Triple Talaq and the Right to Privacy. From 8^th August 2010 till 12^th September, 2011 he was the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court, Jagdish has served as Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court from 29^th November, 2009 till 7^th August, 2010. Jagdish got in the very big controversy named as Bribery Controversy, in 2017, the chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh wrote a suicide note saying that Jagdish demanded Rs.49 crore and Rs. 31 crores as a Bribe from him for making his judgment in his favour. After knowing this, many constitutional functionaries took serious actions against him, Khehar presented the whole story in front of them. However the wife of the Chief Minister took the case back, and the file was closed. However later on Delhi High Court rejected the plea on 22 May, 2017 of lodging an FIR for the allegations did by the Chief Minister against Jagdish. The Chief Minister submitted his fine for the care of Rs. 2.75 Lakhs. On more controversy was against Khehar where he made his punishment against Karnan of 5 years of Rigorous Imprisonment and Jagdish paid the fine of Rs. 1 lakh.
