Indu Goswami is a famous Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Teacher and Educationist, Social Worker, and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), the upper house of the Indian Parliament from the state of Himachal Pradesh. She was born on 12 April 1967 (age 54 years according to 2021) in Palampur, Distt. Kangra (Himachal Pradesh). Her father’s name is Shri Jagmohan Gir and her mother’s name is Shrimati Kaushalya Devi. Her educational qualification is Bachelor of Arts from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. Her religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. She is unmarried and has one daughter (Adopted).
Indu Goswami started her political career when he joined Bharatiya Janata Party in 1988 and was made Chairperson of Himachal Pradesh State Commission for Women, Chairperson of State Welfare Board, Himachal Pradesh. She has also been worked at the position of the vice-president of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the late 1980s and Director of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency, Government of India for 2017-20. In 2020, she was elected to the Rajya sabha. Currently, she is serving as a Director of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency, Government of India, member of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Awantipora, member of Committee on Science and Technology, Environment, Forests and Climate Change, and member of Committee on Empowerment of Women.
