Hans Raj Hans is a famous Indian Artist (Singer), a politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party, an Agriculturist, a social worker, and a Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from North West Delhi (NCT of Delhi) Constituency. He is also known as Zorawar. He was born on 9 April 1962 (age 59 years according to 2021) in Shafipur, near Jalandhar, Punjab, India. His father’s name is Late Shri Arjan Dass and his mother’s name is Late Smt. Ajit Kaur. He did his schooling from Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Gakhal Dhaliwal Jalandhar, and educational qualification are Pre University (Arts) from D.A.V. College, Dayanand Nagar, Jalandhar, Punjab. His religion belongs to Sikhism and Nationality, Indian. He married Resham Kaur on 18 Apr 1984 and has two sons. He loves reading, listening to classical music. His first coach’s name is Ustad Puran Shah Koti.
Hans Raj Hans started his career as a singer as his first album was Jogian De Kanna Vich in 1983, first movie Kachche Dhaage (with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan) in 1999. He has been sung for more than 50 albums, movies, and Religious songs. In 2009, he has first joined the Shiromani Akali Dal party and was its candidate till 2014. After that, he joined the Indian National Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2016. He was elected to the 17th Lok Sabha from North West Delhi (NCT of Delhi) Constituency with which he became a member of the Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment and a member of the Consultative Committee, Ministry of Culture and Tourism. He has been honored with the Padma Shri Award from the President of India, the Raj Gayak Award (2 times) from the Government of Punjab, and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award from the President of India. He has also been selected as the Vice-President of ICCR and attends all the assignments and related work or cultural programs. He was also appointed as Vice-Chairman of the National Commission for Safai Karamchari (2018-2019).
