Gufi Paintal's real name is Sarabjeet Singh Paintal. He is one of the most talented Indian Actors in the Hindi Cinema. He was born on the 4th of October 1944 in Turn Taran, Punjab, British India.
He stepped in, into the entertainment industry in 1978. He first introduced himself to the Film Industry. Made his first film appearance with a romantic comedy film directed by Basu Chatterjee, Dillagi. Later he got more chances to make his appearance in more films such as Des Pardes, Suhag, Maidan -E-Jung, The Revenge: Geeta Mara Naam, etc. In 1986 he introduced himself to the television industry. He made his first television appearance in a television series Bahadur Shah Zafar. Later on, in 1988 he became a casting director of an epic Indian television series based on the ancient Sanskrit epic Mahabharat, he also cast himself in Mahabharat in the role of Shakuni (Shakuni Mama). From 1988-90 Mahabharat aired on the DD National network. Mahabharat received wider recognition and became a financially critical hit TV show all over India. Gufi also received wider recognition for his performance and rose to fame and doing Mahabharat. Later he made his appearance in several TV shows such as Kanoon in which he played the role of Justice Raghunath, Sauda, Akhbar Birbal, Ssshhhh... Koi hai, The Magic Make-up Box, Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein as Brijbhushan Bhala, as Humayun in Bharat Ke Veer Putra-Maharana Pratap, Shani, Kam Sangini, etc.
In 1978 Gufi married an Indian actress Rekha Paintal. The couple blessed with a son named Harry Paintal. Harry is also married. He married Sheetal Paintal. She gave birth to their daughter and Gufi Paintal’s and Rekha Paintal's granddaughter named Sarah Paintal.
