Vishnu Sahay is the first Governor of Nagaland. He took office on 1st December 1963. He was a wonderful candidate in his profession(Indian Civil Service). He was the Cane Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh and Sugar Controller of India. He even served as Secretary of Agriculture to the Government of India and Ministry of External Affairs. He held the post of Cabinet Secretary of India twice during 1958 - 1960 and during 1961-1962.
He was a student of SM College Chandausi and even Oxford University.He was in the batch of ICS 1925. He gave his ICS on 16th November 1925.
Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya, Governor of Nagaland entered Governer office on 14th July 2014. Born on 8th October 1931 Padmanabha Acharya is from Udupi district in Karnataka. He was the student of the first batch in Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College, Udupi (1949).
He was a supporter of BJP. After his graduation, he relocated to Mumbai where he worked. He was the member of ABVP and Mumbai UniversitySanate. He was renowned for his work in planning the University of Delhi’s Gyanodaya Express. He became the Honourable Governor of Assam(additional Charge) on 12th December 2014.He is married to Smt Kavita Acharya.
