Geethu Anna Jose is a famous Indian women’s basketball player. She was born on 30 June 1985 (age 36 years according to 2021) in Kollam, Kottayam, Kerala, India and belongs to a Syro-Malabar Catholic Nasrani family. Her religion belongs to is Hinduism and nationality, Indian. She did her schooling at Kottayam's Mount Carmel English Medium School and graduated at Assumption College, Changanacherry. Her brother’s name is Tom Jose who is also a basketball player and represented the State of Kerala. Her height is 188cm, 1.88m, 6 feet, and 2 inches. She plays as a center for the Indian national basketball team. She has been the Captain of the Indian women's national basketball team. On 8 January 2014, she married Rahul Koshy. They have a son and a beautiful daughter.
She made her junior international debut at Junior ABC in Chinese Taipei in 2002 and senior international debut at ABC, Japan in 2004. She joined the Southern Railway basketball team and represented it from 2004 to 2008. She has been part of the silver medal-winning Indian basketball team in the 20th Asian Basketball Confederation Championship for Senior Women which was held in Sendai, Japan in 2005 in the same year she played in the Invitation Tournament at Phuket, with awards for Most Valuable Player (MVP), best player, top scorer, top rebounder and also the Most Popular Player Award. In 2006 she joined the Australian club and become the first Indian woman basketball player to play for an Australian club as a professional and was honored with the Australian Most Valuable player of the Year. In 2007 her team won in Pool-B at FIBA Asia Championship for Women, Incheon, South Korea. She is also honored with Arjuna Award in 2015.
