Smt. Geeta Kora started her political career when she was elected to the Member of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly for consecutive two terms (2009 – 2019). She has been a member of the Women and Child Welfare Development Committee, Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, Chairperson of Schedule Tribe/Schedule Caste Committee, Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, Member of Tribal Advisory Committee, Government of Jharkhand, Division Railway User Consultation Committee, South Eastern Railway. She was elected to the 17th Lok Sabha in 2019 with which she was made a member of the Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment and a member of the Consultative Committee, Ministry of Human Resource Development. She has also been Chairperson of Adityapur Industrial Development Authority (AIDA) for 2013-2014, Chairperson of College Administrative Body, Inter College, Noamundi for 2009 – 2019, Chairperson of College Administrative Body, Inter College, Jagannathpur for 2009 – 2019, Member of Senate/Syndicate, Kolthan University for 2014 – 2019, and Member of Commonwealth Women Parliamentarian Association of India for 2016-2019.
