Gangapuram Kishan Reddy began his political career as a Leader of the Youth Wing of the Janata Party in 1977. Kishan Reddy was elected as an MLA from the 217-Himayath Nagar Assembly Constituency, Hyderabad with a majority of about 32 thousand votes. International Chairman, World Youth Council Against Terrorism (W.Y.C.A.T.) in 2004. He was elected to Assembly from Amberpet Constituency in 2009. He was elected again to the assembly from Amberpet constituency by a margin of 27000 votes in 2014. He serves as MoS Ministry of Home Affairs in 2019. He contested and won the Secunderabad Lok Sabha's seat and defeated Talasani Sai Kiran Yadav of TRS by a margin of over 60,000 votes in 2019. G Kishan Reddy got elevated to the cabinet rank and sworn in as the Minister of Culture and Minister of Tourism in 2021.
