Galla Jayadev is a famous Indian politician of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Industrialist, Agriculturist, social worker, and Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Guntur (Andhra Pradesh) Constituency. He is also known as Jay Galla. He was born on 24 March 1966 (age 55 years according to 2021) in Diguvamagham, Andhra Pradesh, India. His father’s name is Shri Ramachandra Naidu Galla (founded the Amara Raja Group) and his mother’s name is Smt. Aruna Kumari Galla (former MLA from Chandragiri). His grandfather was also a freedom fighter. His educational qualification is B.A. (Pol. Science & Economics) from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, USA, and Westmont High School, West-Mont, Illinois, USA. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He married Padmavathi Devi Galla on 26 Jun 1991 and has two sons. He has a special interest in History`, Rural Development, and Architecture and loves to Travel, Photography, Motor Sports, and Scuba Diving Reading.
Although Galla Jayadev belongs to a family of Politicians and freedom fighters, Jay first worked as an international sales executive at GNB Battery Technologies in the USA. After that, he joined his father’s founded Amara Raja Group, and currently, he is working as a managing director of Amara Raja Batteries since 2003. In 2014, he entered the world of politics as he was first elected to 16th Lok Sabha from Guntur (Andhra Pradesh) Constituency with which he became a member of Standing Committee on Commerce, member of Consultative Committee, Ministry of Power, and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, member of Committee on Private Members Bills & Resolutions and member of Tobacco Board, Ministry of Commerce & Industry. He was re-elected to 17th Lok Sabha (2nd term) from the same Constituency. He has been part of some Social and Cultural Activities as he is Permanent Trustee of Rajanna Trust and Krishna Deva Raya Education Trusts and Involved in the upliftment of the needy in education, farming, skills development, environment areas, etc. he is also President of AP Squash Rackets Association (Affiliated to the Squash Rackets Federation of India).
