Gajendra Singh Shekhawat is an Indian politician from Rajasthan. He was born on October 3, 1967 (age 54 years), in Jaisalmer, India. He is a Member of the Lok Sabha since 2014. He did his study at Jai Narain Vyas University. His father’s name is Shri Shankar Singh Shekhawat and his mother’s name is Smt. Mohan Kanwar. He married Smt. Naunand Kanwar.
He was appointed as the Member, BJP Pradesh Karyakarni (Rajasthan). Later he became a Member of the National Team of BJP MSI Cell in 2012. From 1 Sep. 2014 to 4 Sept. 2017 he was a Member of the Standing Committee on Finance. Also, he was appointed as the Member, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation and Member, Governing Council, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jodhpur. He was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha. He defeated Chandresh Kumari of INC Party by 4,10,051 votes in 2014. On 27 Jul. 2016, he became a Member of All India Council of Sports (AICS), Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India and on 12 Aug. 2016 he was appointed as the Chairperson, Fellowship Committee, Lok Sabha Secretariat. From 1 May 2016 to 4 Sept. 2017: He was the Member of, Committee on Estimates. On 11 May 2016, he became a Member of, Joint Committee on the Enforcement of Security Interest and Recovery of Debts Laws and Miscellaneous Provision (Amendment) Bill, 2016. On 12 June 2017, he became a Member of, House Committee. On 3 Sept. 2017, he was appointed as the Union Minister of State, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. He was inducted into Modi's cabinet as Minister of Jal Shakti in 2019.
