Gowdar Mallikarjunappa Siddeshwara started his political career when he joined RSS and later he joined Bharatiya Janata Party. He was first elected to the 14th Lok Sabha represented Davangere constituency. He has been served as the Vice-President of the Karnataka State (2009-2010), National Parliamentary Party Treasurer of the Bharatiya Janata Party from 2004-2014, Secretary of Karnataka state BJP, Minister of State for Civil Aviation for 2014-15, Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises for 2014-16. He was re-elected to the 15th Lok Sabha (2nd term), 16th Lok Sabha (3rd term), and 17th Lok Sabha (4th term). Currently, he is serving as a member of the House Committee, a member of the Standing Committee on Commerce, a member of the Joint Committee on Salaries and Allowances of Members of Parliament, and a member of the Consultative Committee, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
