Fouzia Khan is a famous Indian politician of the Nationalist Congress Party, Educationist, Agriculturist, Social Worker and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), the upper house of the Indian Parliament from the state of Maharashtra. She was born on 19 February 1957 (age 64 years according to 2021) in Aurangabad (Maharashtra). Her father’s name is Dr. Zafar Naqshbandi and her mother’s name is Shrimati Fahmida Begum. Her educational qualification is S.S.C., B.A., M.A. (English), M.Phil., PGCTE, and Ph.D. from Marathwada University, Aurangabad, Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages, Hyderabad and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. Her religion belongs to Islam and Nationality, Indian. She is married to Shri Tahseen Ahmed Khan on 1 June 1984 and has two children one son and one daughter. She loves to do Reading, writing poetry, listening to music, wildlife photography, exploring jungles, and traveling and has been traveling to Singapore, led the delegation as Minister of State, Government of Maharashtra; Dubai (U.A.E.), Australia, New Zealand, Kenya, U.S.A., Austria, Croatia, and Germany.
Dr. Fouzia Khan started her political career as a member of Maharashtra Legislative Council, the upper house of Maharashtra Legislature for two terms 2008-2014. In between, she was appointed to the Minister of State, Government of Maharashtra for 2008 – 2014. She is the National President of the Nationalist Mahila Congress since 2018. In 2020, she was elected to the Rajya Sabha from the state of Maharashtra. Currently, she is serving as a member of Maharashtra State Board of Waqf, a member of the Committee on Food, Consumer Affairs, and Public Distribution, and a member of the Committee on Empowerment of Women. She is also the National President of the Women’s Wing.
