Riding his horse Seigneur Medicott, the 29-year-old Fouaad Mirza had a score of 59.60 penalty points after the completion of all rounds – dressage, cross-country, jumping qualifier, and the jumping final. In 2020, Fouaad Mirza booked the berth at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics after finishing 1st in South East Asia, Oceania qualifiers group. He will be the 1st Equestrian from India to participate in the Olympics since 2000. Only 2 Indian Equestrians had participated in the Olympics, Indrajit Lamba in 1996 and Imitiaz Anees in 200. Fouaad Mirza has 2 international gold medals and 3 Silver medals under his belt in Eventing. The Indian just managed to squeeze through to the jumping final after a combined total of 47.20 penalty points from dressage, cross-country and jumping qualifier placed him in the 25th spot from 63 competitors.
