He was born on 1 September 1973 (age 48 years according to 2021) in Purna Kamdev, Nalbari, Assam, India. His father’s name is Late Shri Prabin Saikia and his mother’s name is Late Smt. Puspalata Saikia. His educational qualification is Bachelor of Commerce from Guwahati Commerce College. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He married Niju Barman Saikia on 28 Jan 2007 and has two children one son and one daughter. He loves to play musical instruments (Ghosh) Sankha, Written Articles in Assamese newspapers, magazines occasionally, listen to music and sing, read, etc. He is part of the club of sports Football, Volleyball, Kabbadi, Kho-kho.
Dilip Saikia started his political career as a member of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad ABVP Assam Pradesh. Later he became state Secretary and state organizing secretary of ABVP. In 2015, he joined Bharatiya Janata Party. In the same year, he was appointed as a National Vice Chairman of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. In May 2019, he was elected 17th Lok Sabha Mangaldoi (Assam) Constituency and became a member of the Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Gas, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He did some Social and Cultural Activities as well as he is President of the NGO of Mass People Development Organization through which he organized a Talent Hunt amongst school students. He is also a Regular speaker in RSS ideological & family, Voluntary blood donor (36 times donated blood), State President of BJYM for 2007 – 2009, State Spokesperson of BJP from Assam, and currently the National General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party.
