Dhiraj Prasad Sahu is a famous Indian politician of the Indian National Congress, Industrialist, Social Worker, and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), the upper house of the Indian Parliament from the state of Jharkhand. He was born on 23 November 1955 (age 62 years according to 2021) in Lohardaga, Jharkhand, India. His father’s name is Late Rai Sahab Baldeo Sahu (a social worker) and his mother’s name is Late Shrimati Shushila Devi. His educational qualification is a Bachelor of Arts from Marwari College, Ranchi. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He is married and has two children one son and one daughter. He loves to do traveling, wildlife, reading books on history, social activities.
Shri Dhiraj Prasad Sahu started his political career as a candidate for Indian National Congress in 1977. In 2009, he was first elected to the Rajya Sabha from the state of Jharkhand, Re-elected to Rajya Sabha (second term) in 2010, and Re-elected to a third term in 2018. Currently, he is serving as a member of the Committee on Coal, Mines, and Steel and member of Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Power and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
