Deepa Malik born on 30^th September 1970 in Bhainswal, Haryana age 47 years, she is an Indian Athlete. She became the first woman to win a medal in Paralympic Games. She further participated in Summer Paralympic Games in 2016 and won the silver medal in Shot Put. At the age of 42 years, Deepa won the Arjuna Award in 2012. In 2017 Deepa Malik was honoured with highest civilian award Padma Shri Award. Till now she has won 58 National medals and 18 International Medals in her field. She also plays others sports such as Javelin Throw, Swimming and Motorcycling. She is also associated with Himalayan Motorsports Association and also with Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India. Deepa is the daughter of veteran Infantry Colonel BK Nagpal and is married to veteran cavalier Colonel Bikram Singh, the couple has two daughters named as Devika and Ambika. She works in the working group in the formulation 12^th Five Year Plan on Sports and Physical Education as nominated by the Planning Commission HRD division on behalf of the Sports Ministry.
