Deep Grace Ekka is a famous Indian women’s field hockey player. She was born on 3 June 1994 (age 27 years according to 2021) in a small village called Lulkidhi in the Sundergarh district of Odisha. Her father’s name is Charles Ekka and her mother’s name is Jayamani Ekka. Her religion belongs to is Hinduism and nationality, Indian. Her height is 158cm, 1.58m, 5 feet, and 2 inches and her weight is 63kg, in pounds 139 lbs. She plays as a Defender in the India national field hockey team. Her first coach’s name is Tej Kumar Xess (2005–06) and then Lucela Ekka and Saroj Mohanty.
Deep started playing hockey in her school time as she was selected to join the SAI-SAG center of the Sports Authority of India in September 2007. She played at the state level at the age of 13 and at the senior nationals at the age of 16. In 2011, she made her debut as played at the National Games in Ranchi and her international debut in the Four-Nation Tournament in Argentina in 2011 in which India won the Bronze medal. She has been part of the Indian team that won the bronze medal in the U-18 Girls` Asia Cup Hockey Championship in Bangkok, Thailand in 2011 and also part of the bronze medal-winning Indian team for the first time in the Women Junior Hockey World Cup at Monchengladbach in Germany in 2013. She was part of the Indian women's team that finished fifth in the 20th Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow from 23 July to 3 August 2014. She was a member of the Indian women's hockey team that won the bronze medal in the 17th Asian Games at Incheon (South Korea) in 2014 and many more. She was selected for Rio Olympics 2016, Brazil then won a gold medal at the Women's Hockey Asia Cup 2017 Gifu and been a part of Field hockey at the 2018 Asian Games – Women's tournament. Recently she played at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and played so well that they finished with the fourth place which is the best ever finishing at the Games.
