Debasree Chaudhuri started her career in politics when she joined Bharatiya Janata Party. She has been the District Observer of BJP Kolkata South Suburban District till 2019. In 2019, she was elected to the 17th Lok Sabha for the first time and made a member of the Standing Committee on Food, Consumer Affairs, and Public Distribution. In the same year, she was appointed as Union Minister of State, Ministry of Women and Child Development for 2019-2021.
