David Dhawan(birth name Rajinder Dhawan) is a popular Director who has given many commendable movies to the Indian cinema. He was born on 16th August 1955 in Agartala, Tripura, India. He is married to Karuna Chopra and they are proud parents of Bollywood Actor Varun Dhawan and director Rohit Dhawan.
David studied at Christ Church College and BSND Inter College for his secondary education. After completion of his studies, he joined the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) initially he aimed to become an actor but later he realized that he can’t act and opted for editing as his profession.
He is known for his comedy genre movies and has given many successful movies like- Swarg, Judwaa, Shola Aur Shabnam, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Partner, Main Tera Hero, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and much more. David always said that he loved working with Bollywood actor Govinda as no one can match his comic timing. The duo has given 17 blockbuster comedy movies.
He is currently working on Coolie No.1 starring his son Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan.
