Lt.Gen. (Dr.) Devender Paul Vats (Retd.) is a famous Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Retd. Lt. General (Army), Medical Educationist, Social Reformer as Khap sudharak, Social Worker and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), the upper house of the Indian Parliament from the state of Haryana. He was born on 16 April 1950 (age 71 years according to 2021) in Thurana village, Hisar district, Haryana, India. His father’s name is Shri Shiv Dhan and his mother’s name is Shrimati Har Kaur. His educational qualification is M.B.B.S., M.S. Ophthalmology, Post Doctoral Training from Pt. B.D. Sharma, PGIMS, Rohtak, Haryana, A.F.M.C., Pune Maharashtra, RPC, AIIMS, New Delhi. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He is married to Shrimati Geeta Vats on 7 May 1984 and has three children one son and two daughters.
Devender Paul Vats has first joined Army Medical Corps in 1975. He is also a Medical educationist with experience in selecting officers in UPSC, HPSC, and PPSC. He is a former chief of the Haryana Public Service Commission. In 2018, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha from the state of Haryana with which he was made a member of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Home Affairs, member of the Committee on Defence, and Member of Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
