His father’s name is Shri Konidala Venkata Rao and his mother’s name is Shrimati Anjana Devi. He married Surekha Konidela. He did his study at MGR Government Film and Television Institute, Sri Y N College, M. G. R Film and Television Institute of Tamil Nadu. Chiranjeevi launched his party named as Praja Rajyam Party and entered state politics. Social justice was the main agenda of his party in 2008. In 2009, he won Assembly Election from the Tirupati seat. He defeated Karunakar Reddy Bhumana of the Congress Party. His party won 18 of the 295 seats. He contested from Palakollu also but lost from there. On 6 February 2011, Chiranjeevi merged the Praja Rajyam Party with the Indian National Congress. Chiranjeevi was nominated to Rajyasabha and became Congress MP in the upper house on 3 April 2012. Later he became Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Minister of Tourism in the Government of India. Many politicians left the Congress party but Chiranjeevi remained with them and did the campaign for Congress as chairman of the election campaign committee for the 2014 Loksabha Elections. Congress saw a huge defeat in this election. He was retired from Rajyasabha on 2 April 2018.
