Chandra Sekhar Sahu is a famous Indian politician of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Advocate, Social Worker, and Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Berhampur (Odisha) Constituency. He was born on 7 July 1950 (age 71 years according to 2021) in Berhampur Distt. Ganjam, Odisha, India. His father’s name is Late Shri Bipra Charan Sahu and his mother’s name is Late Smt. Annapurna Sahu. His educational qualification is BSc (Hons) LL B from Khalikot College, Berhampur University, (Odisha). His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He married Smt. Leela Sahu on 01 Mar 1979 and has three daughters. He loves to do Public Service, reading, and playing.
Chandra Sekhar Sahu started his political career as a candidate of the Indian National Congress became a Member of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) Corporator of Berhampur Municipal Council for 1979-83 and then Chairman of Berhampur Municipal Council for 1984-87 & 1992-95. He was first elected to the 14th Lok Sabha of India representing the Brahmapur constituency of Odisha in 2004. He has been worked at the position of Union Minister of State for Ministry of Labour & Employment, Union Minister of State for Ministry of Rural Development, and Working President Pradesh Congress Committee for 2008-10. In 2019, he was re-elected to 17th Lok Sabha (2nd term) from the same constituency as a candidate of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) with which he became a member of the Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Gas, Committee on Government Assurances, and Consultative Committee for Ministry of Power and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
