Bojjala Gopala Krishna Reddy is an Indian politician and Minister for Environment and Forests and Science and Technology from Andhra Pradesh state. He was born on April 15, 1949, in Urandur village in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, India (which is also his permanent address) to Ganga Subbarami Reddy who was an MLA from Sri Kalahasti Constituency. In 1968, he grabbed his Bachelor’s degree in Science and in 1972 bagged Bachelor of Laws degree from Sri Venkateswara University. He is married to Brunda who is the daughter of Late Sri Peddireddy Thimmaa Reddy, a Congress Minister. The couple has two children Padma and Sudhir. Bojjala Gopala Krishna Reddy shifted his base to Hyderabad to pursue his career in law after his marriage to Brunda. But the destiny had other plans for him and his interest in politics won over his interest in law and he joined active politics. He got a Telugu Desam Party’s ticket in 1989 and he won the election with a big majority. He is very close to the chief of Telugu Desam Party i.e. N Chandra Babu Naidu. There was a mine blast on October 1, 2013, which hit the caravan of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu accompanied by Bojjala Gopal Krishna Reddy when they were on their way to Tirupati for Brahmotsavam celebrations at the Lord Venkateswara temple. Both the ministers received minor injuries.
