Bo Derek is an American actress, film producer and a model who born on 20 November 1956 in Long Beach, California, the U.S. Her parents gave her beautiful name Mary Cathleen Collins. Her father was a Hobie Cat executive and her mother was a make- up artist and a hairdresser to Ann Margret. Her parents divorced and her mother got married to Bobby Bass who was an American Stunt Performer. She did her schooling from Narbonne High School and George S. Patton Continuation School in Harbor City, California. At the age of 16, she was attending the Narbonne High School in Los Angeles in 1973. There she fell in love with her senior John Derek who was a married man of 30 years old. Both were started dating to each other. John divorced her wife who was an actress Linda Evans. Then the couple moved to Germany. In the year 1973, John Derek began production on a film named Fantasies. This was the low budget English romantic film which was starred by Collins and other German actors. The film was shot in Greece for 10 days period. Because of beauty of Collins, John started work into the film several risqué scenes including brief nudity. On 10th June 1976, Collins got married to John Derek. That time she was 19 and John was 49. John Derek gave his young wife a Hollywood makeover in which she had bleached her hair and adopted a name Bo Derek. In 1977, Derek appeared in the short horror film Orca- The Killer Whale which was directed by the Michael Anderson. In this film, her leg bitten off by the title character. In 1979, she was selected for the several roles in films. After that Derek appeared in the English romantic comedy film 10 which was directed by Blake Edwards. The film was starred by Dudley Moore who found Derek’s character to be the ideal women. In 1984, she appeared in the film Bolero which was directed by her husband John Derek. For her performance, she won the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actress. After 5 years she appeared in the romantic, comedy and horror film Ghosts Can’t Do It. After that, she worked in the Television films including Hot Chocolate (1992), Shattered Image (1994) and Woman of Desire. In the year 1995, she appeared in the film Tommy Boy for which she nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Supporting Actress. During the 2000’s, she appeared in several more feature films including Frozen With Fear (2000), The Master of Disguise (2002) and Malibu’s Most Wanted (2003). In 2015, she made for TV campy film Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!.
