Steps involved in relocating your DTH connection.

Television sets were long replaced by LEDs and LCDs. Antenna with cable and then to DTH, a promise of non-stop entertainment with no wires and added convenience of portability. Direct-to-Home TV services have pretty much changed the entertainment industry for us. You can continue and discontinue your services whenever you want, choose channels you like watching etc. Owing to the demand and profitability of this sector, a number of companies were drawn towards it. Some of them flourished while some became extinct. Currently, the major names working in this industry are:

  1. Airtel Digital TV
  2. Tata Sky
  3. Dish TV
  4. Videocon D2H
  5. Sun Direct
  6. DD Free dish
  7. Reliance Digital TV or Big TV

Local cable operators have also changed a lot to make their existence sustainable, but the major players remain Airtel, Dish TV and Tata Sky. This entertainment through satellite transmission takes the help of a set-top box and an receiving antenna, which is nothing like the old fashioned antennas. Shaped like an umbrella, these antennas can be moved conveniently, so you do not need to worry about buying a new connection if you are shifting from one part of the country to another. The question remains how do you get the relocation of a DTH connection done? Here is the process involved:

Number one – Contact your operator.

Not all the service providers are providing service in every region of India, so better ask your service provider before taking the decision of taking your equipment along. That’s one reason, there’s a security deposit which is refundable when you return the stuff to the company.

If your connection can be moved, they will send a technician to uninstall the set-up. Later, a technician will reach your new location to re-install the device while your user Id remains the same, and also the package you usually took. In case the company doesn’t serve in your new locality, you need to clear the dues and get it uninstalled.

Well, that makes it clear that relocation needs only a phone call to the operator. For which you will need the contact details, as mentioned below:
