MCD Community Hall Booking Procedure, Charges & Document Required

Are you willing to book any MCD community hall (समुदाय भवन) / open areas in Delhi ? People of Delhi have found these halls very useful for them. You can book it for marriage functions, birthday parties, social get-togethers, death ceremonies etc. kind of social functions. There isn’t any kind of religion, caste, community-based rules to book these halls.

All these halls are established in various areas around all over state. The management of these community halls belongs to Municipal Corporation of Delhi only.

Recently, I have to go to book one of the halls for a marriage function. So, I am sharing my experience with you for that.

I went to book Community Hall, Tahirpur, Shahdara (समुदाय भवन, ताहिरपुर, शाहदरा) and got few details for the same. It can give you an idea of checking availability, booking charges, other charges, booking procedures and documents required.

How to Check Availability of MCD Community Halls

The executive of that community hall suggested me two ways to check availability. Those are :

1. Online from the official website of MCD.
2. From the nearest regional office of MCD

Well, even after trying alot I couldn’t check it online for community halls in East Delhi. So, I went to nearest MCD office which is situated at Shahadra area and checked whether the hall is available on the particular date or not.

What documents required for booking ?

Documents which the official asked for bookings were :

• ID proof copy (who is booking the hall)
• Passbook’s copy (front page only of the person who is booking the hall)
• ID Proofs of Bride and Groom (who are getting married)
• Passport Size Photos of Bride and Groom
• Demand Drafts of the security amount (which will be refundable)

What are the Charges of MCD Community Halls

Charges may vary according to the community halls. Because it totally depends on the area which you are booking. The hall which I booked has two floors and the charges were : 

Charges	Ground Floor	Two Floors
Booking Charges	Rs. 18,000/-	Rs. 36,000/-
Security Amount (Refundable)	Rs. 7,500/-	Rs. 15,000/-
Cleaning Fee (सफाई शुल्क)	Rs. 1,000/-	Rs. 2,000/-

So, as per the charges table, if I am booking both floors i.e. Ground and First floor of the community hall. Then, the charges will be double in comparison with the Ground floor only. 

Security amount is refundable. You have to pay it through Demand Draft. If you are booking both floors then you have to submit two Demand Drafts.

Booking charges can be paid cash in the MCD office and cleaning fee needs to be paid at the community hall only.

What is the booking procedure ?

The booking procedure is simple. Visit the nearest MCD office of your area, check availability,  write an application regarding it. Pay the fee and submit security deposit amount. The office will provide you booking receipt for the same.
