Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra (BIT Mesra) Ranchi, an engineering and technology institute, also a deemed university which was established back in the year 1955 located in the city of Ranchi, Jharkhand. The university’s campus covers an area of about 785 acres of land. It is affiliated to AICTE, UGC, ACU, AIU, PC, NBA and NAAC. It’s motto is ‘Learning is that which liberates’. This university offers many undergraduate courses such as B.E. (Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Chemical & Polymer Engineering), B.Arch., B.Pharmacy, BHMCT and postgraduate courses which include M.Tech, M.E, M.Pharm, MCA, MBA, MTPM, M.Sc, Master in Animation & Design and various doctoral programmes. It has the facility of central library and many computer labs. It has an academic staff of about 350. Around 4000 students study in this university.
