Barkatullah University is located in Habib Ganj, Bhopal, Madhya Pardesh (M.P). Firstly, the university was known as Bhopal University but after that it was renamed Barkatullah University.  Prof. Maulana Baraktullah Bhopali is one of the great freedom fighter of India and he was belongs to Bhopal. NAAC has been accredited Barkatullah University as a B category university. The university was established in 1970 and in the year 1988 Bhopal University was renamed as Barkatullah University. More than 170 colleges are affiliated to the Barkatullah University which is having one Engineering College, a Ayurvedic college, two college of education, Physiotherapy college etc. affiliated to the university. There are many colleges of Bhopal District and other neighbouring districts like Sehore, Vidisha, Raisen, Betul, Hoshangabad, Harda and Rajgarh which are affiliated by the university. Barkatullah provides degrees to the non-technical colleges. The Vice Chancellor of Barkatullah University is Prof. Nisha Dube.

Barkatullah University offers undergraduates, postgraduates and Ph.D programs.  Some of the programs offered by the university are B.A., BA. LLB, B.com, BBA, BCA, BPD, B.Pharma, M.A. (in various streams), MBA, M.com, MCA, LLM, M.Sc. (in various streams), MPD, M.Tech (in various streams), M.Pharma, MCA, Ph.D. (in various streams) and many more.
