Automotive Axles Limited (AAL) is a joint venture of Kalyani Group and Meritor Inc., USA. It was established in 1981. With manufacturing facilities located at Mysore (Karnataka) and Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), the company manufactures drive axles, non-drive axles, front steer axles, specialty & defense axles, and drum & disc brakes. It provides these products to the major domestic and global manufacturers of trucks & buses pertaining to segments such as light, medium & heavy commercial vehicles, military & off-highway vehicles, aftermarkets, and exports. As a continuous process, the company believes in introducing new products regularly to meet the emerging needs of the commercial vehicle market. AAL has developed an impressive domestic OEM clientele that includes Ashok Leyland, Telco, Vehicle Factory, Jabalpur, Mahindra & Mahindra, Volvo, and Bharat Earth Movers.

The facilities also comprise Gleason Gear Manufacturing Equipment backed by a modern Heat Treatment Shop including Continuous Carburising and Sealed Quench Furnaces. Wide range of Rear Drive Axles catering to commercial vehicles ranging from 6 Tons to 35 Tons GCW, S–Cam Actuated Quick Change Air Brakes for commercial vehicles, and Trailer Axles for 10 Tons to 13 Tons GVW. In 1998, it has Quality Management System certified to ISO 9001, Quality System certified to QS 9000 in 2000, Quality System certified to TS16949 in 2005, Environment Management System Certified to IS14001 in 2006, etc.
