He was born on 2 January 1953 (age 68 years according to 2021) in Dariyapur, Bhagalpur, Bihar, India. His father’s name is Late Shri Sahadeo Prasad Choubey and his mother’s name is Late Smt. Sudevi Devi. His educational qualification is Bachelor of Science (Hons.) zoology from Science College, Patna University, Patna, Bihar. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He married Neeta Choubey on 08 May 1978 and has two sons. He loves to do Yoga, Aasan & Pranayam, Listening to classical & devotional music, Watching Kathak Dance and Kavi Sammelan.
Ashwini Kumar Choubey, a politician from Bihar and belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party, was first elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly for five consecutive terms (1995 – 2014) and has been Chairperson of Private Members Bills & Resolutions Committee and Nature Conservation & Pollution Control Committee, Bihar Legislative Assembly. He has been the Leader of BJP Legislative Party, Bihar Vidhan Mandal, Minister of Urban Development, Government of Bihar, Minister of Public Health Engineering Department, Govt. of Bihar, and Minister, Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Bihar. In 2014, he was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha and became a member of the Committee on Estimates, Standing Committee on Energy, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Sub Committee-I, Committee on Estimates. He has also been Union Minister of State of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for 2017 to 2021. In 2019, he was re-elected to 17th Lok Sabha (2nd term).
