Arjun Singh is a famous Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Social Worker, and Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Barrackpur (West Bengal) Constituency. He was born on 02 Apr 1962 (age 59 years according to 2021) in North 24 Pargana, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. His father’s name is Late Shri Sataya Narayan Singh (was an active politician and three terms MLA from Bhatpara (Vidhan Sabha constituency)) and his mother’s name is Late Smt. Kailash Pati Devi. He did his schooling at Chashma-I-Rahamat High School after that he joined Rishi Bankim Chandra Colleges at Naihati for graduation but did not complete his graduation. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He married Smt. Usha Singh on 28 Jun 1982 and has three children one son and two daughters. He loves Sports, Gyming and Reading books.
Arjun Singh started his political career as a candidate of the Indian National Congress in 1995 and later joined Trinamool Congress. He was first elected to the Member of West Bengal Legislative Assembly for consecutive four terms (2001-2019). In the same period, he was appointed to the Member of Standing Committee on Labour, West Bengal Legislative Assembly, Member of Standing Committee on Public Undertaking, West Bengal Legislative Assembly, member of Standing Committee on JNNURM, West Bengal Legislative Assembly, and member of Standing Committee on Transport, West Bengal Legislative Assembly. In 2019, he joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and was elected to the 17th Lok Sabha representing Barrackpur (West Bengal) with which he was made a member of the Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment and member of Consultative Committee, Ministry of Commerce, and Industry. He has also been appointed as one of the twelve Vice-Presidents of the West Bengal unit of BJP.
