Anil Dhawan is a very senior actor in the Indian film industry. He was born on 27 November 1950. He is a native of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He completed his high school from ST. Francis Xavier's School, Kanpur, and graduation from Christ Church College, Kanpur. Since he was passionate about acting so he moved to Pune to have a diploma in acting from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. His father’s name was Madan Lal who was AGM in UCO Bank, Peshawar. In 1947, his father turned up in India. His wife’s name is Rashmi Anil Dhawan and the couple has one son named Siddharth Dhawan, who is also an actor. Famous director David Dhawan is his brother whereas Rohit Dhawan (director) and Varun Dhawan (actor) are his nephews. Anil Dhawan is a grandparent of Anjani and Karan.
He introduced himself to the Bollywood industry in 1970 with the film Chetna. In 1971, he came with Piya Ka Ghar movie. The song of this film Yeh Jeevan Hai was very famous. After this, he has worked in numerous films to his credit. Recently, in 2018 he was seen in the film Andhadhun. Besides movies he has also done serials like Sone ka Pinjra (1986), Kora Kagaz (1990). Lately, he is working in many serials, such as Roop- Mard Ka Naya Swaroop, Bhagyalaxmi, etc. Sometimes he was part of the Anna Hazare movement against corruption.
