Her educational qualification is J.S.D. from Doctor of Science of Law and J.S.M., Master of Science of Law from Stanford University, U.S.A. M.E.E., Masters in Ecology and Environment from IIEE, New Delhi LL.B., L.A. Shah Law College, Ahmedabad and B.Sc., M.G. Science Institute, Ahmedabad, Gujarat University. Her religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. She married Shri Ajay J. Patel on 18 January 1990 and has one son.
Amee Yajnik started her career as a Member of Mahila Samakhya - Gujarat State Program Committee for Women for 1992-93. After that, she was appointed to the Assistant Government Pleader and Additional Public Prosecutor of the High Court of Gujarat for 1996 – 99. In between, she served as a Member of Gujarat State Ethical Committee on AIDS for 1998 - 99. She has been served at the position of Senior Counsel for the Official Liquidator, High Court of Gujarat, Ministry of Company Affairs, Union of India, Additional Central Government Standing Counsel, High Court of Gujarat for 2008-11 and Senior Standing Counsel for the Central Board of Excise and Customs. In 2010, he joined the All India Congress Committee and in 2018, she was elected to Rajya Sabha from the state of Gujarat.
