Helen Anne Richardson Khan is also known as Helen is an Indian Bollywood Actress and Dancer who has prominently worked in Hindi as well as Tamil movies. She was born on 21st November 1938 in Rangoon, Yangon, Myanmar. She is the second wife of veteran director and writer Salim Khan; he is also her second husband as she was first married to Prem Narayan Arora in 1957 but unfortunately, the couple got separated in 1974.
Initially, she worked as a Background Dancer and made her debut in Bollywood movie Awara is 1951 as a background dancer. In 1995, she was first seen in the Telugu movie Santosham; the role was small and she didn’t have any attention. She got recognition from the movie Howrah Bridge in 1958. She is considered as the “Queen of dancing” as she was the one who introduced cabaret dance form in India. Her item songs were mandatory in movies as people loved to see her dancing. Her song “Piya Tu Ab Toh Aaja” is still one of the iconic songs of Bollywood. She has been seen in movies like- Anari (159), Bahana (1960), Mr.India (1961), China Town (1962), Woh Kaun Thi? (1964), Talash (1969), Hulchul (1971), Hungama (1971), Anamika (1973), Sholay (1975), Don (1978), Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), and Heroine (2012).
