Amala Mukherjee (after marriage Amala Akkineni) is a well established Bharatnatyam Dancer, an Indian Film and Television Actress, and an Animal Welfare Activist. She was born on 12th September 1967 in Calcutta, West Bengal, India. She is married to South superstar Akkineni Nagarjuna in 1992 and the couple is blessed with a son named Akkineni Akhil (born in 1994) is also a south actor. She is the stepmother of south superstar Naga Chaitanya. She is an alumnus of Kalakshetra, Chennai, India.
Amala made her debut with the Tamil movie Mythili Ennai Kaathali, the movie became a huge blockbuster hit and she became popular. The directors and producers were charmed by her acting skills and worked in over 50 films after the hit of her first movie. The sting of her acting had gone everywhere and she started getting offers from Malayalam and Tamil industry as well.
