Navaneethakrishnan is a famous Indian politician of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Senior Advocate, Social Worker and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), the upper house of the Indian Parliament from the state of Tamil Nadu. He was born on 18 May 1956 (age 65 years according to 2021) in Ponnappur West, Distt. Thanjavur (Tamil Nadu), India. His father’s name is Shri K. Appasamy and his mother’s name is Shrimati A. Indirani. His educational qualification is B.Sc., B.L. from A.V.V.M. Sri Pushpam College, Poondi, Distt. Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu and Law College, Chennai. His religion belongs to Hinduism and Nationality, Indian. He is married to Shrimati N. Tamil Selvi on 28 February 1982 and has three children two sons and one daughter.
Appasamy Navaneethakrishnan started his career as an Advocate General of Tamil Nadu as he was the Advocate General of Madras High Court, 2011 – 2013. After that, he was worked as a defense lawyer for Jayalalithaa. In 2014, he joined politics as a candidate of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and was first elected to the Rajya Sabha from the state of Tamil Nadu and elected to Rajya Sabha (second term) in 2016. He is serving as a Chairman of the Committee on Government Assurances since 2018 and a Member of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying in 2019. He was also a Part-time Lecturer of Mercantile Law (for B. Com.) Raja Serfoji Government Arts College, Thanjavur.
