The film gave her the recognition and fame which she was always looking for. Then, came the release of the movie Judaai in the year 1997 in which she starred along with Anil Kapoor and Sri Devi. The film was a great hit as well.
Later, she was seen in several thriller movies like Satya, where she played the simple girl who was in love with the gangster. Soon she was seen in movies portraying the intense psychological characters. Few of them being a serial killer in the movie Kaun that starred Manoj Bajpai in the lead role and then she has seen as an obsessive lover in the movie Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya for which she also went to win Filmfare award for the best actress by the critics. In the movie "Ek Hasina Thi", she was yet again appreciated for her role and performance.
Besides, acting, the actress is active in other sectors as well. She is actively involved in several humanitarian causes and is interested in issues related to women and children.
