Shiney was born on 15th May 1973 in Dehradun, India. He completed his school education from St. Xavier's School, Ranchi and Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan while he completed his graduation from Hans Raj College, New Delhi. His father Suraj Prakash Ahuja is in Indian Army while his mother Seema Ahuja is a housewife. During his school days, Shiney had a keen interest in Sports. He was good in football, volleyball and Cricket. During his school time, he also developed an interest in Theatre. He got selected for the admission in Hansraj College through the dramatics quota from over 300 aspirants. After that, the actor took acting seriously and attended several workshops at NSD.
