Preity Zinta is an Indian actress and entrepreneur who born on 31 January 1975. She was born in Rohru, Shimla District, Himachal Pradesh. Her father name is Durganand Zinta and he was an officer in Indian army. When Preity was 13 years old, her father died in a car accident. She has two younger brothers Deepankar and Manish. She has described herself as a Tomboy.
Preity did her schooling from Convent of Jesus and Mary boarding school in Shimla. In the School, she loved literature, William Shakespeare and poetry. She received good grades in her studies and sports. She got the degree from St. Bede’s College in Shimla in English Honours. She did her graduation in Psychology. Then she took up modeling. She did her first Television commercial for Perk Chocolate. After that she appeared in many Television Commercials. In 1997, she met Shekhar Kapoor during the audition and Shekhar insist her to become an actress. The Director cast her for the film Tara Rum Pum Pum but the film was cancelled. Then she appeared in the film Dil Se… directed by Mani Ratnam.

In 2003, she gave bollywood three higher grossing films The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, Kal Ho Na Ho and Koi… Mil Gya. She next appeared in the film Armaan alongside Anil Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan. Then she appeared in the film Lakshya of Farhan Akhtar. After that year, Yash Chopra cast her for lead role in the film Veer Zara opposite of Shahrukh Khan. The film grossed over $13 million worldwide. The film story was about an Indian Officer and a Pakistani Woman.
In 2005, she appeared in the film Khullam Khulla Pyar Kren opposite of Govinda. She next worked with Saif Ali Khan in a comedy drama film Salaam Namaste. The film was produced by YashRaj Films. The film grossed $7.9 million internationally also. In the year 2006, she appeared in the film Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna with Rani Mukerji, Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Kirron Kher. The film grossed 635 million in India and $6.9 million in Abroad. In the same year, she starred in Shrish Kunder’s Jaan-e-Mann alongside Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. In 2007, she appeared in the film Jhoom Barabar Jhoom opposite of Bobby Deol, Lara Dutta and Abhishek Bachchan. In 2008, she starred in a road film Heroes. On 29 February 2016, Preity Zinta married to her American partner Gene Goodenough. She did a private ceremony rather than a big wedding.
